Church of the King Covenant Statement

Believers who choose to join our congregation here at Church of the King and help us advance the Kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, are asked to read the following covenant statement just prior to our weekly celebration of the Lord's Table. They and one of our elders then publicly sign the covenant after which they are extended the right-hand of fellowship and welcomed as members of Church of the King. Those who need more information about membership or who desire to join should speak with one of our elders.

I hereby joyfully enter into covenant with Church of the King gathering in Sacramento California, thereby agreeing to submit to and support her Confession, and enter into the mutual edification of her members.

Representing my household, I covenant to do the following:

1. I will attend this church's worship services unless providentially hindered, worshipping the Triune God of the Bible only, honoring His name and avoiding all idolatry.

2. I will submit to the church leadership and participate in the government of this church.

3. I will express my gratitude for God's blessings by cheerfully bringing tribute to Him through His tithe.

4. I will train and educate any children God may give me in the fear, nurture, and admonition of the Lord, including them in the church's two sacraments of Baptism and the Lord's Supper.

5. I will keep the Lord's Day, the Christian Sabbath, worshipping and resting in the finished work of Jesus Christ, the risen Savior, refraining from unnecessary commerce and labor, enjoying opportunities of Christian fellowship, and benevolent activities, as the Lord provides.

6. I will neither marry nor give in marriage outside of the Christian faith, and will honor the institution of the family and avoid all sexual immorality.

7. I will oppose the disgraceful and abhorrent sins of adultery, abortion, and homosexuality.

8. I affirm and will faithfully obey Christ's Great Commission, which calls Christians to "make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit."

9. I will diligently seek to preserve the unity and well being of the church. If I decide to pursue membership at another church, I will endeavor to transfer my membership in an orderly and godly manner.

Worship The Worship Service at Church of the King begins promptly at 11:00 am each Sunday. Pulpit supply is provided by Pastor John E. Stoos. We are currently worshipping at Eagles Hall in downtown Roseville at 204 Lincoln Street at the corner of Vernon Street. Driving Directions Worshippers are encouraged to gather at 10:30am for a brief time of music practice and instruction as we strive to better glorify God in our worship. Our Church fellowship feast follows immediately after the service each week and all are invited to attend and enjoy this meal and time of fellowship as our guests. Driving Directions The Sacramento area ladies' bible study meets at the Stoos home every Friday at 1:00 p.m. There is a Friday night bible study at the Pettyjohn home. 1st & 3rd Fridays meet at 5:30 p.m. for a "pot providence" prior to the study. Other Fridays, the starting time is 7:00 p.m. Contact the Pettyjohns for info. Thursday night Bible study on the Book of Revelation continues at 7:00 p.m. at the Johnson home. Ladies' bible study in the Grass Valley area meets on the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays at 1:30 p.m. at the Echols' home. Call Rita for info.
